Jack Hawkins was born in Ipswich in 1985. He attended Oxford University, and then LAMDA. After seeing his performance as 'Iago' in a modern retelling of Shakespeare's Othello at the Southwalk Playhouse in 2010, director Sir Trevor Nunn cast Jack in his upcoming stage adaptation of Sebastian Faulk's novel "Birdsong". Jack went on to work on Trevor Nunn's next production, playing Hamlet in Tom Stoppard's "Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead" in the West End. He has subsequently toured internationally with Cheek By Jowl, played Tesman opposite Emma Hamilton in Laurie Sansom's "Hedda Gabler" and appeared in "New Tricks" (2013) and "Casualty" (2014) for the BBC. He has also recorded a number of best-selling audiobooks, including 1356 by Bernard Cornwell, The New Recruit by Andy McNab, and Blood Family by Anne Fine.
